Flight Delay Hinders Nigeria U23's Preparations Against Japan Opener


The Dream Team VI will now travel to Manaus on Thursday morning after their flight was canceled on Wednesday
Nigeria U23’s preparations for Friday's Rio 2016 Olympic clash against Japan have been disrupted after their trip to the Brazilian city was terminated.
The African U23 champions were initially due to leave Atlanta on Wednesday afternoon, but the players’ appeal over the size of the plane caused the trip to be cancelled, according to media officer Timi Ebikagboro.

Players were not too comfortable with the size of craft so made an appeal which the FG listened to and so hired the flight, it leaves 2/3

The Delta Airline flight is an all VIP aircraft ,so that the players can be comfortable all through the journey so they can arrive refreshed

The players and technical crew have returned to their hotel and will now depart for Brazil on Thursday at 7.30am after the federal government hired a Delta Airline flight, ‘an all VIP aircraft’ to make the team confortable.
Samson Siasia’s side would be gunning for gold when the men’s football event starts on Thursday with the Dream Team VI facing Japan in their opening game at the Amazonia Arena, Manaus on Friday morning.
