Wike is a testament of good governance - Deputy Senate President

WIKE IS A TESTAMENT OF GOOD GOVERNANCE DECLARES DEPUTY SENATE PRESIDENT

Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu has declared that Rivers State is  a testament  of good governance , with Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike as a shinning advertisement for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Addressing  journalists  after embarking  on projects inspection  with Governor Wike  across Port Harcourt, Obio/Akpor and Eleme Local Government Areas, Senator  Ekweremadu  urged other governors  to visit Rivers State  to witness first hand the definition of good  governance.

He also  praised Governor Wike  for  his direct connection  with  the  ordinary  people of  the  state,  noting that  the people  appreciate  the  governor  for delivering  the  dividends of democracy.

Senator Ekweremadu said: "What I have seen these few hours inspecting projects  with the governor  reinforces  my belief in true federalism. Nigeria’s  best option  is true  federalism,  a situation  where every state will develop  at its own pace .

"Any person  from any part  of  Nigeria can come here and reside with access to the  good things of life. I have seen Street lights, good roads and vibrant  economic  activities everywhere with new houses springing up. Government  is working  here".

He added: "Governor Wike  has restored faith in government  as far as Rivers State is concerned.  In other places,  people  are losing  faith in government.  Here in Rivers State you can see dividends  for the votes cast for the PDP.

"I believe that  once other states emulate  what is happening  in  Rivers State,  Nigeria  will be better".

He stated that the falsehood being  peddled  about the security  situation  in Rivers State should   be  disregarded as the state is marching  forward.

Senator Ekweremadu said: "People  are very happy  with the governor.  We saw people  praising  the governor  wherever  we went. He does not need security  to move around. The connection  between  Governor Wike and the citizens  is splendid.

"Rivers State is a testament to good governance and I thank  the  governor  for bringing  humility and performance  to bear in his discharge of duties".

He said that the leaders and members of the PDP  are proud of the efforts of Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike since May 29, 2015.

The Deputy Senate President stated that by his superlative performance, Governor Wike  has made it impossible  for the opposition  to  make an inroad into Rivers State.

He thanked the contractors of the projects  visited for doing a quality  work.

Project sites visited include: NBA Law Centre, Port Harcourt Civic Centre, Woji-Akpajo Road with bridges, Elelenwo-Akpajo Road and Port Harcourt  Pleasure Park.

Billionaire business man, Jimoh Ibrahim picks up Governorship form for Ondo state.

Billionaire business man, Jimoh Ibrahim has picked the nomination form for the November governorship election in Ondo state from Senator Sherrif led-PDP. While picking the form, Jimoh Ibrahim said if elected, he will pay workers in the state their salaries within his 100 days in office ;

"I will restructure the state in the area of capacity building, good innovation and by putting the right thing in the right place at the right time. I will pay workers within the first day of my 100 days in office. Non-payment of salaries by state government is the failure of innovation of states by Governors. It is when you are innovative that you will be able to pay salaries. Those (Governors) who are owing are not efficient. I'm not owing any of my workers" he said.
